The October 20 and 27 hikes will be switched, so that now Barb will lead the hike to the Bracebridge area on October 20, and Fern will lead the hike to Hardy Lake on Oct. 27.

This spring saw Barrie and Orillia again partner in the Trillions of Trilliums hike.

Orillia has carried on with the beginner series time slot of Wednesday evenings from 6 – 8 pm through the summer.  It is a popular time, and may continue in the fall.

The Wednesday evening hike Jul. 4 will be along the City of Orillia waterfront/trail rather than Slessor Tract due to the heat.

Following the very successful Beginner Hike series, just concluded, Orillia Club is adding a regular Wednesday evening hike to our regimen of hikes.  The hikes will go all summer, leaving from Willow Court at 6 pm, hiking from 6 – 8 pm.

We had perfect weather for Carol’s hike to Tiny Marsh although the western loop trail was a little wet in spots and we all got some practice climbing over downed trees.
The trail on the eastern loop was dry, but we were surprised to see that two observation towers had been cut down.
Most hikers brought their binoculars and many interesting spring birds were spotted.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and the poor conditions, Orillia Club’s planned snowshoe to Awenda scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 21, 2018, is cancelled.
