They are free to download, you just need to register at the links on the Conservancy website.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.durhamoutdoorsclub.ca\/\">Durham Outdoors Club<\/a> provides hiking and cycling opportunities in and around the Oshawa area.<\/p>\n<p>For those hikers who also enjoy birdwatching, <a href=\"http:\/\/ebird.org\/content\/canada\/\">eBird Canada<\/a> is your gateway to the world\u2019s largest birding community.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.grca.on.ca\/\">Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority\u00a0<\/a>owns and operates some of the conservation areas that we visit during scheduled hikes.<\/p>\n<p>The 11,000 acre <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grca.on.ca\/forest\">Ganaraska Forest<\/a> is one of the largest blocks of forested land in southern Ontario. Today the forest is a living example of how the principles of integrated resource management can be used to balance many different uses of forested lands on a sustainable and ecologically sound basis.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gvta.on.ca\/Resources.htm\">Grand Valley Trail<\/a> is a 250-kilometre footpath that stretches from Orangeville south to Kitchener\/Waterloo and ending between Rock Point Provincial Park on Lake Erie. Their\u00a0website provides excellent Hiking resources, including topics on safety, footwear, clothing, bugs, poison ivy, giant hogweed, medical emergencies, and GPS systems.<\/p>\n<p>Stretching over 3,600 km, the <a href=\"https:\/\/waterfronttrail.org\/\">Great Lakes Waterfront Trail<\/a> is a signed route connecting 155 communities and First Nations\u00a0along the Canadian shores of the Great Lakes region.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guelphhiking.com\/\">Guelph Hiking Trail Club<\/a> offers guided hikes in Guelph and the surrounding area with over 80km of trails, from Cambridge to Limehouse and from Guelph to West Montrose.<\/p>\n<p>Several of our members are also members of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oakridgestrail.org\/\">Oak Ridges Trail Association<\/a>. Their website has a good newsletter and a variety of hiking articles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hikeontario.com\/\">Hike Ontario<\/a> has\u00a0a mandate to encourage the development of hiking trails in Ontario.\u00a0Its website provides a list of every hiking club in the province.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ontariotrails.on.ca\/\">Ontario Trails Council<\/a> promotes the creation, development, preservation, management and use of recreational trails.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontarioparks.com\/park\/queenelizabeth2wildlands\">Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park<\/a> is part of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail and represents some of the best wilderness hiking in the province.
