Each club offers hikes in their local area and maintains the trail system for all to enjoy. The Hiking Association also acknowledges that some practices of settlement on lands were not conducted with the attitude of respect for the natural environment, which was characteristic of Indigenous people\u2019s relationship with land, water, sky, flora and fauna. Hiking offers opportunities to connect meaningfully with the natural environment.
